Noel Montenegro, a historian and former worker, tells a story of El Sauce in the days of the train. The train ran from Granada to Rio Grande. And although the train was a big oeuvre of progress, it was unfortunately destroyed and sold as junk in 1993. Says Noel:
I want to mourn … a lot of people traveled by train. But it was more than an adventure. They had the opportunity to sell their products. You can still find many train stations that exist at this moment.
