The 4 Walls Project would not be able to do what it does in El Sauce, Nicaragua without help from the partners below. We are grateful for their support, work, and collective commitment to our shared missions.

  • Enlace Project

The Enlace Project, an NGO created through the State University of New York at Geneseo, provides business consulting and planning, financial and leadership training, and project management services to the community of El Sauce.

  • Wholestory Collective

Started by University of Dayton student, Colin Johnson, this is a 3-way entrepreneurial project. Colin buys hammocks — gorgeous and hand made — from a Nicaraguan artisan. For every 100 sold, he donates a house to the 4Walls Project.

  • Journey of Solutions

Journey of Solutions is a key partner for the 4 Walls Project. They are the non-profit that has helped to support and incubate the 4 Walls Project. JFS that helps to handle the accounting and dispersement of money. They support other grassroots organizations as well.

  • DIDES (Dimenciones del Desarollo)

With volunteer Colleen Dunham, DIDES has undertaken the “Pig Project,” a subsistence agriculture project in El Sauce, which enables families to eat better and make a little money.

  • The Friends Project

The Friends Project was created by Kris Dreessen, a regular visitor to El Sauce, who describes it as “a simple name for a simple idea: When I travel, my friends and I collect money. When I go, I find new homes for the donations where it can really make a difference. In America, 50 bucks means dinner for two. In other places it can mean a food cart to start a business or treatment of malaria.”

  • Pack, Paddle and Ski

Pack, Paddle and Ski is an adventure travel organization started by the French family more than 20 years ago. PPS spawned Journeys of Solutions, as well as other organizations and projects around the world. Since 2011, PPS has brought a volunteer group to El Sauce to build with 4 Walls each year.

  • Go Philanthropic

Go Philanthropic connects donors to carefully selected grassroots organizations around the world to provide effective, creative, and sustainable solutions to global issues. GoPhil was born from a desire to be more than just a check-writing charity — to be a creative, active, and engaged humanitarian organization. GoPhil brings high school volunteer groups to construct 4 Walls houses in El Sauce.

  • One New Education

(ONE) was co-founded by 4 Walls volunteer Christa Sadler. ONE provides educational opportunities for young women in developing and underdeveloped countries. Women are the threads that bind these communities, so access to education helps the girls, their families, and society. The mission of ONE is to open doors for these young women, one at a time.
